At Scanlitt, our priority remains the same: to offer researchers, teachers and students ever more powerful tools to explore, analyze and understand scientific literature.
In recent weeks, several major updates have been deployed on the platform. They also concern the wealth of data, that the analysis speed and the synthesis capabilities of our AI. Here is an overview of what's new.
SOCRATES full (beta): even more in-depth summaries
A major novelty is coming in beta version : SOCRATES complete.
How do I access it?
Once the analysis is started, a new section appears at the bottom of the screen:
“Socrates complete (beta)”

What is changing:
- Much more comprehensive natural language summaries
- An increase depth of analysis, for a complete and exhaustive literature review
- When exporting to PDF, the contents are also much more detailed

To note:
- Access to SOCRATES complete consumes 1 additional SOCRATE credit
- It is still possible to use the standard version of SOCRATES, at no extra cost
Engineering sciences considerably enriched

Our meta-database Engineering sciences (DataEngi) has just undergone a major evolution.
- Before: approximately 500 indexed scientific journals
- Today: 7,717
This expansion allows for a much finer and more comprehensive coverage of your research work in engineering and related disciplines.
Areas now covered:
- Maths (MATHS)
- Computer Science (COMP)
- Materials (MATER)
- Environment (ENV)
- Engineering – Diverse (ENGI DIV)
- Energy (ENERG)
- Chemistry (CHEM)
- Physics & Astronomy (PHYS & ASTRO)
- Agriculture & Biology (AGRI & BIO)
- Earth & Planetary Sciences (EARTH)
- Management Information Systems (MIS)
The complete list of journals is available here: https://scanlitt-2024.webflow.io/en/revues-lists/dataengi
Translation of SOCRATES summaries (FR/EN)
The summaries in natural language generated by our agentic AI SOCRATES are now available in French and English.
Concretely:
- Two buttons French/English were added to the level of each summary made by SOCRATES
- The language change is happening summary by summary
- No need to restart the analysis
A real gain in comfort for users working in international or bilingual environments.

To note:
- This improvement is under development for SOCRATES complete
- This option is available when your user interface is set to French.
Analysis possible even with less than 15 results
Until now, analyses were limited to queries that returned at least 15 results. This is no longer the case: if your request returns less than 15 items, you can still click on “Analyze”.
To note:
- The volume is not enough to activate ARTIREV
- The analysis is therefore based only on SOCRATES, with an probabilistic approach
- This is still particularly useful for highly targeted or emerging topics

Overall, faster analyses
Good news on the performance side: all analyses are now faster, regardless of what request is launched.
This optimization allows:
- An immediate time savings
- A smoother experience
- A more efficient sequence of explorations and analyses

In summary
These updates mark a new stage in the evolution of Scanlitt:
- An even more powerful AI for literature reviews
- A vastly expanded engineering database
- More accessible multilingual summaries
- ️More flexibility on small corpora
- Faster analyses
Do not hesitate to test these new features directly on the platform and to give us your feedback!
